Difficulties
T1: These are hiking trails that are generally accessible and are usually designed for people with a certain level of physical fitness. They usually do not have an asphalt or concrete surface. Steeper areas are protected by handrails and have steps. These trails do not make any special demands on users. They are marked yellow (i.e. the entire signpost is yellow, including the directional part – the top).
T2, T3: These are mountain trails, mostly steep, narrow and partly exposed. Places that are particularly difficult to pass are secured with ropes or chains. Users of hiking trails in the mountains must be safe, free from vertigo and in good physical condition and be aware of the dangers in the mountains (falling rocks, danger of slipping and falling, changes in the weather). Sturdy shoes and equipment adapted to the weather are a prerequisite. The marking of the hiking trails is white-red-white.
T4-T6: These are alpine hiking trails that partly lead through snow-covered terrain, over glaciers or scree and over rocks with short climbing passages; partly also pathless. Hikers must be safe, free from vertigo, in very good physical condition and have a thorough knowledge of the dangers in the mountains. In addition to standard equipment, you may need navigation equipment, a rope, helmet, axe and crampons. The trail markings are blue, white and blue-white.
